The Academy

Each year the UKTA offer a number of courses which together form a significant portfolio of training for telecommunications managers, professionals and technical operatives. The courses take place at in-house training facilities of the relevant providing companies and academic institutions at various locations throughout the UK. The UKTA aims to provide an accessible and inclusive learning environment where delegates feel encouraged, valued and welcomed. Learning opportunities are relevant and meaningful for all learners, including those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

The training covers a wide range of communications related knowledge, expertise
and activities, including management, commercial, technical, and personal development. Individual courses range from 1 day to 2 years in duration. Applicants may select a combination of courses to form a consecutive programme appropriate to their personal needs. All training is in English and delegates should have an adequate English language capability. As a guide, this should be equivalent to the British Council's International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 5, for Post Graduate programmes you will require a minimum of 6.5 in addition to 'O' Level English or equivalent.

Tuition charges are highly subsidised for all Post Graduate courses and this represents a saving, on average, of £500 per day. There is a small charge of £16.00 (Inclusive of VAT a UK Government tax) for each training course attended, (this amount will differ for Post Graduate courses and costs are available upon application) to cover the cost of UKTA application processing payable upon arrival and before training commences.

For training courses UKTA delegates on courses provided by member companies receive high quality training at 'preferential rates'. When making payments please ensure that you use your UKTA reference number so that it can be tracked swiftly and easily through the system.

Applicants are responsible for finding their own funds for travel and UK living costs. The first choice for funding should be through the applicant's own company or administration. However, applicants may privately fund their training if they wish. Regional or international funding agencies may be another alternative option. Whatever the source, applicants should be sure of their funding before submitting their final acceptance form relating to the course places offered.
