The UKTA wishes to ensure that all delegates are able to enjoy their experience in the United Kingdom and are able to maximise the benefits from the training provided. The following terms and conditions for acceptance of training have been introduced to help achieve this and ultimately are for the benefit of all concerned. You should have an adequate English Language capability. As a guide, this should be equivalent to the British Council’s International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 6.5. For Post Graduate courses in addition to other prerequisites you will require 'O' Level English or equivalent. Before a scholarship can be offered and accepted, all enquiries and applications must be channelled through the central UKTA contact point. Anyone attempting to contact the training providers direct will be disqualified from the UKTA scholarship scheme. Before you can be considered for a scholarship your application form must be countersigned by an authorised company representative who can confirm your suitability for the training and the availability of funding for your travel and UK living costs. All scholarships offered to applicants by the UKTA are at subsidised/preferential tuition charges. An administration and processing charge of £16.00 (pounds sterling inclusive of VAT a UK Government tax) will apply for each course place accepted (for Post graduate education this cost is £180.00 inclusive of VAT). Some Training Providers may additionally request a non refundable booking deposit which will be deducted from the final tuition fee upon arrival at the venue. Where the above charges are required, full details will be supplied during the offer/booking process. Payment of tuition fees to Training Providers are bound by the Terms and Conditions provided to you upon your acceptance of the confirmed training award by the UKTA and subsequent issuance of an invoice by the Training Provider. You must advise the UKTA immediately if an unavoidable problem arises that will prevent you from attending any of the accepted scholarship courses allocated to you. Following confirmation of acceptance, if you fail to advise the UKTA immediately of an unavoidable problem preventing your attendance, or fail to take all reasonable steps to avoid wasting allocated scholarships, you or your company will be billed for the full market price of the training. Neither the UKTA nor its member-companies can accept any responsibility for delegate costs or liabilities arising from personal accidents, ill health, optical or dental requirements, or any form of financial loss. The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office state that, ‘With few exceptions, visitors to the UK are not entitled to free medical treatment. A charge will be made for any treatment received. Visitors should therefore ensure that they have sufficient medical insurance to cover their stay’. Therefore, before entering the UK, you must ensure that you have appropriate personal insurance and/or funds to cover such events. You are responsible for paying all UK travel and accommodation costs while in the UK. Delegates arriving without adequate funding for their stay will not be allowed to begin the training and will be referred to their local embassy for immediate repatriation. You must pay all hotel/accommodation bills before leaving for your next destination unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing previously. You must not be accompanied by spouse or family members during the training sessions. All incoming emails, files and disks will be scanned automatically for viruses upon receipt. However, even after scanning the UKTA will not open unsolicited attachments to emails or any emails that contain blank messages alongside the attachment. All outgoing emails are scanned automatically. Mail communications are not subject to encryption unless specifically arranged otherwise and you must be aware of the security risks attached to this for which the UKTA accept no responsibility whatsoever.
