Professor David Mellor OBE, Chairman of the UKTA visited Rwanda in 2005 and negotiated a partnership between the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), UKTA and Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) to enable the delivery of the Master of Communications Management (MCM) programme in Africa. The MCM is externally validated by Professor Izzat Darwazeh of University College London. On the 5th August 2005 a memorandum of understanding was signed between ITU, UKTA and KIST for an initial period of 5years. With effect from January 2009 a cohort of 56 students commenced the programme. The fifth cohort will start week commencing 4th January 2010. Early registration is recommended.
