This course is a unit of study towards the full award in communications cabling. This unit is concerned with the safe working practices and the basic principles of communications systems. This is the core unit of the C & G 3667-02 qualification and must be completed in addition to optional units 2, 3, and 4 to achieve the full award in Communications Cabling. Recommended to be taken as a combined course with optional units 2,3,4 of the award in communications cabling. |

The course covers the safe working practices in communications systems environments. The basic principles of communication systems, basic electricity (DC) SI units and symbols, communication systems and data communications. |
